Welcome to our new website
28/01/2025 Corporate newsOn the 28 January 2025 we launched our new website. We have been working on this significant redevelopment project for the last two years. The changes we have made include an updated look and feel, but more importantly they provide more functionality online and a more user-friendly navigation.
Some of the main updates are listed below. We will be looking for user input on your experience of our new site via an online survey in the coming months. We do appreciate any feedback you may have so that we can continue to evolve the site to meet the requirements of our audiences.
Our online services
There are several services available on our website. These were our primary focus when looking to expand the functionality and improve the user experience.
Find a medicine
This section is now divided into sub-categories for easier access to the information you need. Each medicine listing now allows you to quickly see if:
- A shortage has been notified for that medicine.
- A recent safety notice has been alerted for the medicine.
- The medicine is on the interchangeables list.
For medicines authorised by the European Medicines Agency, there is now a direct link to the relevant information page on the EMA site.
Any documents associated with the medicine such as the package information leaflet, a summary of product characteristics etc. is available with just one click.
Online contact form
You can now get in touch with us directly via our quick contact form online. We have designated categories and topics you can choose from to ensure your message is going to the right place in our organisation.
More tailored MyAlerts subscription service
Our MyAlerts subscription service now allows you to customise your website notifications in a more refined way. This will help ensure we send only relevant information direct to your mailbox.
Report an issue online
If you experience a side effect or an adverse reaction to any medicines, medical devices or other products regulated by the HPRA, you can submit a report to us online using one of our ‘report an issue’ forms.
Make a submission section
For our industry stakeholders we have created an area where all submission documents are now available in one place.
Improved search function
Our search function now provides you with a much more accurate set of results based on your keywords/queries.
Revised content and navigation
Our website houses a lot of information needed for a broad audience (patients and public, healthcare professionals and industry professionals). As part of the redevelopment, we restructured our navigation and looked to consolidate information where possible. Our objective was to improve the content flow and allow users to more easily find what they are looking for.
Improved navigation for better user experience
The site navigation is now structured by the services and information we provide in a multi-tier menu. Our expanded menu lets you see in a few clicks what content you can find in each section.
Updated homepage structure
Our homepage provides new signposting to our most visited areas of the site. Our Find a medicine section remains the primary function but we have now included additional quick links and call outs to some other key areas of the site.
Enhanced accessibility
We have taken steps to improve the accessibility of the site through updated colour contrasts, improved page structure, better navigation and signposting of content and minimum reliance on imagery to share information.
Whilst we have made some significant changes, we are aware of further improvements we can make and we continue to modify and improve the website experience for all.
If you have any questions about our website, please contact our team using our online contact form, selecting 'Other > Website Query' from the drop down menu when prompted.
