Veterinary medicines information

The HPRA’s database lists all veterinary medicines approved for use in Ireland.

  • New medicines are added at least weekly as they are authorised.
  • Changes to existing products, like new indications, name changes or changes to withdrawal periods or shelf lives are implemented once approved.
  • Withdrawn medicines are removed immediately. However, the products concerned can continue to be used once they are within their designated expiry date.

All updates are consolidated into a monthly report, available here.

Use the ‘Search’ line or the ‘Advanced search’ button to search for particular medicines or to generate a list of medicines for a particular indication or species or to filter the information.

Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC)

Each medicine’s SPC details pertinent information regarding product instructions, warnings,  use, storage and disposal. The SPC is intended for healthcare professionals.
