Fees for controlled drug licences
Fees for controlled drug licences are managed by the Department of Health and the HPRA.
The Department of Health charges application fees for:
- Annual licences
- Import and export licences
- Medical Cannabis Access Programme (MCAP)
* Please note that there is no application fee for a registration.
The HPRA charges fees for:
- Inspections

- Contact the Accounts Unit of the Department of Health at accounts@health.gov.ie for bank details and to arrange payment of the application fee. This email address is for remittance purposes only.
- Once the application fee has been paid to the Department of Health, proof of this payment must be submitted along with your completed application to controlleddrugs@hpra.ie.
How to pay fees to the HPRA
- Identify the correct fee category in the guide to fees.
- Complete the fee application form.
- Make a bank transfer to the HPRA's account. You must include the name of the organisation, contact person and application type. If you cannot include this information in your bank transfer, you must notify accounts@hpra.ie.
